Our beginning improv class, Unlocking the Self, is the place to start! This six week class is designed to get you feeling comfortable with improv in a safe and fun atmosphere.
Master the art of being “in the moment” in our first ever Meisner acting course taught by award-winning artist Brooke McCarthy.
Do you want to master the art of being “in the moment”? Are you ready to take your performance skills to the next level? Using Sanford Meisner’s approach, you will cultivate stage presence while exploring what it is like to live truthfully in every moment. Whether you’re an improviser looking to sharpen your acting skills or a theater artist looking to hone your authentic response, this course will offer a transformative journey into the heart of really being in the moment.
This class teaches students the basic tenets of character-driven, long form improv. Centered around the two-person scene, this is the starting course for leaning the CATCh style of improv, and is a requirement for higher levels or for improvisers coming from other theaters. For students who have completed Unlocking the Self or have some prior experience.
